danube orchestra
How can we listen to the river Danube?
How do we communicate with an assemblage of beings?
Experimental modes of listening support us to encounter the river and the beings connected to it. The Danube Orchestra opens up ways of communicating with the different voices of humans, other-than-humans and the flowing river. The Danube Orchestra is a participatory audio device that can be used to (un)regulate sounds through listening and mixing and to create personal soundscapes. Additionally, a contai- ner of Danube water is part of the device. By tapping the container of water a person can start a conversation. The sound responses of the water can be added to the individual soundscapes. All personal soundscapes are part of the collective Danube Orchestra and can be accessed and shared with the public.
