The climate crisis is already manifesting itself everywhere in the world. Large-scale forest fires like those in Australia, California or Italy are thus becoming more and more likely - as well in Austria's forests. Moreover, humans cause the majority of these fires through their direct behaviour, according to Henner and Kirchgast in their study "How climate change increases the risk of forest fires in Austria" (2021). But what does that mean?
How does a burning forest feel?
How do flames and ashes sound?
And how can we bridge the gap between scientific findings and emotions?

What does it sound like when a forest is burning?
Is it possible to translate these sounds into music?
Inspired by a scientific publication, a collection of sound experiments, improvisations and spoken texts was created that revolve around the theme of forest fires. The various tracks are related to the zine of the same name by the collective et art. and can be listened to while reading or just like that.
